First Nations Casinos in Alberta
Six of the 30 venues on this site are First Nations casinos. This page names the Nation behind each one and says where it sits. It also explains where part of the slot revenue goes, and adds a short note on ownership.
Six venues, one shared model
Of the 30 land-based venues this site lists across Alberta, six are First Nations casinos. They are spread widely, from Calgary's southwest edge up to Cold Lake. The province is big, and the drives between them are long.
Hosting carries a specific meaning under Alberta's model. The slot machines at these casinos are government-owned, and 40% of their revenue goes to the First Nations Development Fund. Three-quarters of that fund is shared among the host Nations. The remaining quarter goes to Alberta's non-host First Nations.

A note on PURE's ownership
PURE runs seven casinos in Alberta. Four were already under its name: PURE Casino Calgary, Edmonton, Yellowhead and Lethbridge. On June 24, 2026, it completed its purchase of Gamehost, adding Deerfoot Inn & Casino, Great Northern Casino and Rivers Casino & Entertainment Centre.
Since December 2024, PURE has been owned by Indigenous Gaming Partners. That is a partnership of five Mi'kmaw First Nations in Nova Scotia. The PURE venues are not among the six First Nations casinos this site lists.
