A Fort Road casino with a hotel
Century Casino & Hotel Edmonton stands at 13103 Fort Road in Edmonton. It is a casino with a small attached hotel. Century Casinos opened the casino in November 2006, and the hotel followed in March 2007. In this guide it appears on the Edmonton area page, one of 30 venues listed on the site.
Ownership has a few layers. In May 2023, Century Casinos agreed to sell the real estate under this property to VICI Properties. That cash deal, worth $221.7 million, also covered three other Alberta properties. Then, on September 28, 2026, Century agreed to sell its two racetrack casinos, Century Mile and Century Downs, to Highfield Investment Group. This casino was not part of that sale and stays with Century, as does Century Casino St. Albert.
On the floor and around it
- Off-track betting: the casino has a parlour for wagering on horse races. Off-track betting means placing bets on races run at a track somewhere else.
- Poker and high-limit rooms: a renovation of roughly $2 million, under way in August 2016, added a new poker room. It also renovated the high-limit and VIP gaming rooms, the spaces set aside for larger stakes.
- Slots: the same 2016 work planned a gaming-floor bar and an expansion of the slot area into the hotel lobby.
- Food and drink: there is a restaurant, a sports bar and lounge, and two more bars.
- Showrooms: a 10,700 sq ft room seats about 500 for concerts. A smaller 3,000 sq ft room seats about 200 and hosts Yuk Yuk's Comedy Club shows.
- Hotel and loyalty card: the attached hotel is small, with 26 rooms. Winner's Edge is AGLC's province-wide loyalty program for Alberta casinos, with points earned on carded play, meaning play recorded on a player card.
