A racetrack casino at the airport

Century Mile Racetrack & Casino sits at Edmonton International Airport, in Leduc County. It opened on April 1, 2019. AGLC lists venues like this as racing entertainment centres, where a casino shares the site with live horse racing. The track here is a full mile, described at its 2016 announcement as the only mile-long track in Western Canada.

Its story starts in early 2016, when Edmonton Northlands said it would drop racing at Northlands Park. On September 19, 2016, Horse Racing Alberta chose Century Casinos to build and run the new Edmonton-area A track. VICI Properties bought the real estate on September 6, 2023, and Century Casinos stayed on as operator. On September 28, 2026, Century Casinos agreed to sell Century Mile to Highfield Investment Group. In this guide it sits on the Edmonton area page, one of 30 venues listed across the province.

On the floor and at the track

  • Slots and VLTs: more than 600 machines fill the casino. A VLT is a video lottery terminal, a screen-based game machine.
  • Table games: roulette, baccarat and blackjack are electronic, played in a social gaming space called the Replay Arena. This guide does not list a poker room here.
  • Live racing: Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing runs roughly May to September. Standardbred, or harness, racing takes the fall and winter, and live racing fills more than 35 weeks a year. A race day brings 8 to 10 races over 3 to 4 hours.
  • Off-track and pari-mutuel betting: off-track betting means wagering on races run at other tracks, so there is racing to bet on every day of the week. Pari-mutuel wagering pools the bets on a race and pays winners from that pool.
  • Food and drink: the Finish Line Restaurant has tiered seating over the track and a buffet menu on race days. Reservations open the Monday before each race day at 587-416-6453. Inside the casino are the Derby Restaurant and Celly's Sports Bar and Lounge, and race days add an outdoor concession and a Gazebo bar.
  • Loyalty card: in mid-2025, two player programs were mentioned side by side here, Winners' Zone and Winner's Edge. Winner's Edge is AGLC's province-wide program, with points earned on carded play, meaning play recorded on the card.

Before you go

Gambling in Alberta is for adults 18 and older. Staff must check government-issued photo ID for anyone who looks under 25, so bring it. On race days, admission and parking are free and all ages are welcome at the track. The grandstands are not wheelchair accessible, outside food and drink are not allowed, and dogs stay off the apron.

Without a car, ride the Capital Line LRT to Century Park Station, where Route 747 starts. As of February 1, 2026, that route charges $6 cash each way or a $6 Arc trip, and cards are accepted. From the terminal, the free On-Airport Transit shuttle picks up outside Door 9 on the Arrivals level, by request at 780-890-8983, though its hours are not published. Drivers leave the QEII at the Airport Road exit, then take the first right. Opening hours are in the "Plan your visit" table beside the map, but check with the venue before setting out, because holiday hours can differ.
