Copper Coulee Casino, Medicine Hat
This page covers Copper Coulee Casino in Medicine Hat, the casino inside the Medicine Hat Lodge. It sets out what is on the floor, what the hotel around it offers, where a planned move stands, and what to check before you go.

Inside the Medicine Hat Lodge
Copper Coulee Casino is in Medicine Hat, inside the Medicine Hat Lodge, a hotel, water park and convention centre. The Lodge describes it as Medicine Hat's only casino. Until a 2018 change of partners and rebrand, it went by Casino by Vanshaw. This guide does not print its operator, so confirm the location on the venue's own page before driving. Opening hours are in the "Plan your visit" table beside the map, but holiday hours can differ, so check with the venue before setting out.
There is a good reason for that caution. A move out of the Lodge to Box Springs Business Park was announced in March 2025. In February 2026, the Lodge owner said moving remained on the table and no decision had been made. Within this guide, Copper Coulee appears on the South region page and on the provincial map under the South filter.
The floor and the hotel around it
- Slots and VLTs: the casino has 349 slot machines and 21 VLTs, or video lottery terminals, across 20,000 sq ft of gaming. AGLC also lists electronic table games, which are table games played on screens rather than with a live dealer.
- Live tables: Blackjack with Double Down Madness, Roulette and a Texas Hold'em table game are on the list. A live table is one where a human dealer runs the game.
- High-limit play and bingo: the venue's own description adds high-limit play, meaning games with larger minimum bets, plus bingo.
- Rooms and event space: the Medicine Hat Lodge has 190 deluxe guest rooms and 30 suites. It also has an indoor water slide park, a spa, a fitness facility and a convention centre.
- Loyalty card: Winner's Edge, AGLC's province-wide casino loyalty program, is the card here. Points are earned on carded play, meaning play recorded on the card.
